I took this Majestic nature wilderness fine art photograph in Autumn while hiking one afternoon on a friends nine acre new home in Lincoln City Oregon. The beautiful scenery of Oregon’s costal forest is one of natures places I feel alive as I walk among these hundred year old magnificent giants. The late afternoon sun was starting to and casting it’s light through the giant green forest trees and ferns creating this breath taking view as I looked up at the blue sky. In that moment of silence the red orange brown bark on the trees and the green leaves and ferns took on this surreal look. As I stood there admiring the beauty of this old growth forest scenery I felt this sines of serenity come over me. I was there alone and taking in every single moment of this magical picture of nature at it’s best.

Jerry Cowart - My journey with photography is an ongoing and ever-evolving process. I am challenged to slow down each and every day in this busy world and to stop and admire all the beauty by which I am surrounded. What I have discovered is to enjoy the moment, to love the sound of the shutter as it goes off and be lost in the joy of that one perfect moment and be able to capture it in my camera. For that one magic moment, and in the blink of an eye it will be gone, I see the perfection and beauty in a world that is not always kind and loving as I would want it to be. My photography is about seeing and experiencing the beauty all around me and hoping it will move the viewer in a way they feel what I felt in that moment, in that once in a lifetime moment that has now been caught in the beauty of a print for all to see.
