I took this closeup Violet fringed tulip photograph while visiting the New York Botanical Garden in the Springtime. This fresh delicate fringed tulip flower caught my eye soon as I walked through the tulip garden. The Botanical Garden is a photographers heaven with hundreds of different kinds of flowers. This shot was taken outside without a flash, just using natural light. What a great day of shooting and smelling the roses! .

Its 250 acres include some of the most beautiful natural terrain of any botanical garden in the world, including dramatic rock outcroppings, rolling hills, waterfalls and ponds, the Bronx River, and a 50-acre remnant of the forest that once covered New York City.
